Symbols & Terminology

	MATERIAL SOURCE Location (state / continent) material was sourced from.

	ORIGINAL MATERIAL Plastic bottle caps.
	ORIGINAL MATERIAL Modular solar energy storage system lids.
	ORIGINAL MATERIAL Film scrap (soft plastic most commonly used to wrap large items).

	FOOD SAFETY STATUS Food contact approved resin.

	ZONE 1 - OFFSHORE Material collected far from shore, usually from gyres e.g. the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
	ZONE 2 - NEARSHORE Material collected close to shore.
	ZONE 3 - WATERWAY Material found in waterways, such as streams or rivers.
	ZONE 4 - COASTAL Material collected from beaches and coastlines.
	ZONE 5 - OCEAN-BOUND Material collected from within 50km of the shoreline. Catchment area can include beach and landfill-bound plastic, however is considered a prominent source of marine debris.
	ZONE 6 - DIVERTED Material collected from more than 50km from the shoreline.
